Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

1921 Vintage Postcard. Post Toasties
'm in love with vintage postcards. These little gems have some of the most beautiful hand painted artwork of its time. Vintage postcards were the version of our modern day Twitter as just so many words could fit on these little 3x5 notes. The front typically contained a picture and was a way for the recipient to see far away and unknown places. The back was typically divided into two sections. One side for a message from the sender and the other for the address of the recipient as well as postage. As the postcard developed over time so did these variations.
My goal is to share some of my favorite vintage postcards by digitally enhancing them, merging the front and back of the card into one unique piece of art. Many times the message is as entertaining as the photo. I hope you enjoy my work. Copyright: Audreen Gieger-Hawkins.
